Can you feel the shift? Beyond the sounds of fear and despair, if we would listen to God’s voice, He is declaring this a kairos moment. He is resetting the Church because He wants to pour out His glory. Will you join us as we pray for healing, pray for peace, pray for the outpouring of God’s glory – in the days leading up to Passover?
Today’s devotional comes from Junior High Pastor Mike Escalera.
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:27-28
There is so much going on in the world right now and all throughout our day we will hear so many different “voices” saying all sorts of different things. We hear the voices of the media, government officials, healthcare experts, our friends and family, our concerned neighbors and coworkers etc. Even the voices of fear, doubt, and anxiety may start bombarding us and filling our minds with overwhelming thoughts. Above all other voices, there’s the voice of Truth.
I love this promise in scripture from Jesus, The Good Shepherd. He speaks to US. We know the sound of His voice. He speaks life and truth over us. He KNOWS us. He gives generously and abundantly. He protects us. He’s so much bigger than us and all of our circumstances. He holds us in the palm of His hand. NOTHING can snatch us from Him. He’s been given all authority.
Sometimes it can seem difficult to pick out Jesus’s voice, especially when it seems like every other voice is screaming at you at the top of their lungs. Sometimes it feels like Jesus is barely whispering to you. You see, when you’re standing so close to someone, when you’re right beside them, you don’t have to scream. All you have to do is whisper. Jesus whispers to us in that still small voice because He’s THAT close to us. Take heart that our God is a God WITH US, and an ever PRESENT help in time of need.
During this time, tune into His voice. Press into His presence. What is Jesus saying to you? What is the Holy Spirit saying to you? Have you got it? Write it down. Pray into it. Hold onto it. Release His words over others.
